Last year, the Legion 5 Pro was my favorite mid-tier all-purpose laptop of its generation. This year, the Intel-based Legion 5i Pro has big shoes to fill, and offers a significant boost in CPU performance, a slight bump in GPU and combined performance, and a cleaner redesign, while keeping the series’s other strong points, and at the same time not tackling its quirks. Are these changes enough to justify a higher price tag and shorter runtimes on battery vs. the 2021 models? Probably not, unless you truly need that powerful CPU for your workloads, and I’ll explain why in the detailed review down below.
