Is ASUS ROG Flow Z13 (2022) Worth It?
ASUS ROG Flow Z13 2022 is a surprisingly good laptop or tablet. After looking at reviews from PCmag, Notebookcheck, Tech Advisor, Ultrabookreview, and a few others it is clear to see why. The Flow Z13 has incredible performance for a tablet. The tablet becomes a full laptop thanks to the Intel Alder Lake (12th gen) Core i9 CPU and included external keyboard. The tablet has an impressively bright and beautiful 120Hz touchscreen, which makes this an excellent gaming tablet. When you add the XG Mobile eGPU, which is sold separately, you gain monstrous gaming performance!
When you’re serious with gaming, you really need the XG Mobile eGPU, because the 3050Ti inside the Flow Z13 just isn’t meant for AAA games on high settings. Most reviewers complain that this is one of the slowest RTX 3050Ti they have tested so far. Just take a look at the real-life gaming benchmarks below. When you choose to buy the eGPU, you can expect to pay a large amount. Another downside is that this is not (for normal people at least) something you really want to use as a tablet all day. Weighing 1,2KG or 2.63LB this is on a heavy tablet.
So to answer the question, do I think that this gaming tablet is worth your money? To be frank, no. Don’t get me wrong, this is an amazing feed from ASUS with a tablet with this kind of gaming performance, but you can get a much better deal at the $1.899 price point. I mean gaming laptops can beat this thing with their hands tied to their backs. Yes, I know that’s not a fair comparison, a laptop isn’t a tablet. But purely from a portable gaming device perspective, you can do better. Take ASUS G14 for instance. Now if you really like the portability and don’t mind going for an eGPU for the best gaming performance, be my guest!
