Razer Blade 14 (2021)
According to The Verge, Notebookcheck, Ultrabookreview, IGN, and other tech reviewers, when considering its size, the Razer Blade 14 of 2021 is really packing a punch. It’s a tad slower than larger 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch models but that’s to be expected. Not only does the Razer Blade 14 look good, but you also can expect some great real-world performance. Add a decent battery life and you have one hell of a 14-inch laptop. If you can deal with the very warm palm rests and lack of Thunderbolt support, then you’ll find that the Blade 14 can actually deliver on all performance fronts.
Is Razer Blade 14 (2021) worth it?
The Razer Blade 14 ticks all the right boxes. A blazing fast processor that doesn’t throttle, a beautiful high-definition screen with excellent true Ultrabook portability? Check. It’s a gaming beast with an eye-catching exterior. Though it doesn’t have great battery life and the fans that cool it makes a lot of noise when under load. Plus it can get hot, and the lack of Razer Core compatibility or decent speakers or some downsides, but no deal breakers for me. So yeah, this can really go into your consideration.

Which Razer Blade 14 (2021) should you buy?
The Razer Blade 14 is a powerful gaming laptop that has all the features gamers crave.
The 14-inch screen delivers vivid, true-to-life colors. The keyboard and trackpad are designed for an excellent gaming experience. You’ll never lose control of in-game action when you’re using this laptop thanks to its maxed-out build, AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU, and RTX 3080 GPU. And with not upgradable RAM up to 16GB, it’s capable of handling even the most demanding gaming needs. Plus, at just 3.92 pounds (1.77kg) and 0.66 inches thick (16.76mm), it’s light enough to take everywhere without weighing you down.
Although an RTX 3080 is possible, most reviewers like Dave 2 D recommend the RTX 3070 version because the RTX 3080 costs more but doesn’t deliver that much more than the RTX 3070.
RTX 3070GRAPHICS CARD
16GBDDR4 3200Mhz (soldered)
The ports are good enough with a few USB A and C. Only thunderbolt is missing, it’s still a complete set.
- 2x USB-A 3.2 gen1
- 2x USB-C 3.2 gen1
- DP and data
- HDMI 2.1
- Charging port
Razer Blade 14 has a pretty good screen in its hands, but it won’t be ideal for outdoor usage
- QuadHD 2560 x 1600 px IPS
- non-touch, matte
- 165 Hz 3ms response, GSync support
- 310-nits, 100% sRGB, DCI-P3 color space
Can you upgrade the Razer Blade 14 (2021)?
The Razer Blade 14 from 2021 has an upgradability problem. There’s not much to upgrade; it’s lacking removable RAM and any secondary M.2 slot. You can however change the WiFi card and upgrade the single M.2 slot to larger storage. So, if you like the laptop but want to add more memory for example, then you’re out of luck.
How long does the Razer Blade 14 (2021) last on battery?
According to The Verge, Ultrabookreview, Notebookcheck, and IGN, the battery life of the Razer Blade 14 2021 is 5~8 hours under normal work usage. If you reduce the screen brightness and turn off the RGB lighting, you’ll probably squeeze even more battery life out of it. When gaming on high settings and screen on 30%, you’ll get about an hour of game time.
Is Razer Blade 14 (2021) good for gaming?
Just like expected from a gaming laptop, yes it is good for gaming. This laptop is an absolute beast with 8-cores and an RTX 3080. With the RTX 3080 inside and everything cranked up to the maximum, this laptop screams. It’s one of the most powerful gaming laptops you can get right now and will shred through your favorite games. You don’t need a beefy desktop computer to play the latest games. For most gamers, this is more than enough power and flexibility for your favorite AAA titles.
All that power comes in an itty-bitty living space. 14-inch gaming laptops aren’t that common and the Blade 14 is both compact and lightweight. It’s a perfect travel companion for the gamer-on-the-go.
When looking into the game benchmarks of the Razer Blade 14 from reviewers like Jarrod Tech, Matthew Moniz, and others, I gotta say that it surprised me how much gaming performance this little laptop delivers. The Verge compare’s the Blade 14 with Razer Blade Stealth 13 and the Asus Zephyrus G14 with an RTX 2060, and it beats them in the FPS race with ease. It’s really on par with larger laptops like the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro (2021), and that’s saying a lot. See it for yourself with average FPS in the below chart. Note that when you aren’t plugged into the power outlet you’ll see a significant drop in gaming performance. One reviewer mentioned a cap of 30 FPS in Fortnite.
Is the Razer Blade 14 (2021) good for creators?
The Razer blade 14 has a typical Razer design, a black-ish mat finish with green accents all-around, like the logo on the back, USB ports, and the keyboard lighting. I personally like this design aesthetic, but I can imagine that the silver color of the Razer Blade studio would look amazing on this laptop and fit more with the clean and minimalistic lifestyle looks that some creators have. The laptop feels very well build and rigid. The trackpad feels ultra-smooth glass-like trackpad. Petapixel even thinks it exceeds the feel of the Apple MacBook Pro feeling of the trackpad.
The laptop is a small laptop which is great if you are on the go often. It sports a 14-inch display covering 96.7 percent of the cinema color gamut, 83.5 percent AdobeRGB, a max brightness of 350 nits, and it did it all with a maximum Delta E of less than two in our extended color patch test. In terms of performance, it is a little behind the Blade 15 with the same specifications, but this is expected from a tinier laptop. It still does have great performance for its size as can be seen in the PugetBench benchmarks.
The Verge, Petapixel, and Jarrod’s Tech shared their benchmarks of the Razer Blade 14. These are pretty decent if you ask me. Compared to the Lenovo Legion 5 pro they aren’t far off.
Best Razer Blade 14 (2021) accessoires
If you decide to buy the Razer Blade 14 and want some great accessories, I would consider the G502 Hero mouse, because of its wired accuracy and easy-to-adapt dpi precision and my personal favorite keyboard, the Corsair Gaming K70 MK.2. For your screen, you really can’t go wrong with the ASUS TUF VG27AQ monitor, it’s an affordable top of the line gaming display.
