The MSI GE75 Raider is a significant update of last year’s GE73 series, keeping most of the good parts and addressing some of its quirks. The performance, cooling, keyboard, and speakers remain its strongest assets, but this time corroborated with a 144 Hz IPS-level screen and a more compact chassis. However, the GE75 still trails the competition in the build and battery life departments, and still doesn’t get a Thunderbolt 3 port, that’s why it’s hard to accept MSI’s decision to price this as the most expensive option in its niche.

MSI combines an 8th Gen Intel CPU with RTX 2080 and throws in colorful effects and a healthy amount of software. The result is a speedy, stylish machine.

Much more portable than the GE73 and a surprisingly good alternative to the GS75. If you can cope with the loud fans when gaming, then the GE75 will have long legs with its GeForce RTX-class graphics.
