BEST BUDGET FRIENDLY LAPTOP
Acer Swift 3 (2020)
What do reviewers say about the Acer Swift 3?
This is the most mentioned budget priced laptop. Although the tech experts have tested different models, most reviewers have the Acer Swift 3 selected as the best budget laptop. From what I’ve read, this Swift 3 looks just like any other laptop. It has a dull but sturdy all-aluminum chassis, with a great keyboard, powerful performance, and an amicable price. 24-07-2020, the starting price is from 619 up to 1099, depending on what you need (I recommend starting with an I5 or Ryzen 5 chipset). The screen is not as bright as some reviewers wish. If you are mostly on the go, see it for yourself before you buy, but if you use it at your desk, hook up an external display, and the problem is solved.
Acer Swift 3 as a desklaptop
The Acer Swift 3 budget laptop comes with 3 USB ports, including 1 USB-C, 1 HDMI port, 1 3.5mm jack, card reader, and a plug for your charger. For most people, this would be enough as a desklaptop with a port for a keyboard, mouse, and 1 or maybe 2 displays connected. If you want, you can add a hard drive. The one thing I miss is a network port for internet connection via a cable, a dongle is a solution.
Acer Swift 3 on the go
Battery life is somewhat short. Some tech experts claim 7 hours others claim 10 hours of usage. Still, this will be enough to get you through the day. The keyboard feels good, and it’s lightweight only as mentioned earlier, the screen is somewhat dim, so try before you buy.
How do you decide what’s a good student or budget laptop?
First off, to select which laptop is eligible to be chosen as a student budget-friendly laptop, the laptop needs to be in the range of 500 – 800 dollars/euro. Unfortunately, one of my favorite windows laptops, the Dell XPS 17 (although they had some now resolved trackpad issues), will not be on this list. Secondly, the chosen tech experts need to mention the devices in one of their listings to be selected. (Yup, it’s a lot of work, but it’s fun) The one mentioned the most selected as the winner of the Student/Budget laptop.
